How:
My goal is to journey into dramatic and challenging water environments by Sea Kayak. Testing my own physical and spiritual limits, these solo explorations serve to reunite me with a more simple life and to reinforce the extreme importance of the natural environment. Through the use of digital media, I hope to share my passion and experiences with others.
My initial focus was on the pristine waters of Florida and the amazing waters of Alaska. In 2009, I have been able to document the beauties of the Everglades; the dramatic landscape of the Inside Passage; and the awe inspiring beauty of Glacier Bay. By the end of 2009, I will have paddled solo over 2000 miles, documenting everything through the lens of my camera and the eye of my soul.
Late 2009 and 2010 will bring new and bigger challenges. I will first focus on the waters of the San Juan Islands in preparation for the big waters of the Atlantic Coast. In January of 2010 I will begin my 3000 plus mile journey up the East Coast of North America, starting in Key West Fl and ending in Nova Scotia. This trip will be tightly aligned with the One Ocean Project as well as local educational institutions.
