I have long been fascinated with the early explorers.  Those that chose to go where others had not, especially those that did so with camera in hand.  As my life has unfolded, I have been once again drawn to not only these early explorers but also to my own internal need to and experience what so many others will not.  I have long dreamed of Safaris in Africa; climbing the peaks of Patagonia; diving to the depths of the Ocean Floor and other amzing experiences.  2009 will mark  the beginning of what I commit to being a lifelong pursuit of these amazing destinations where I will experience the beauty and staggering size of each location.  With camera in hand, I hope to bring back my story through my spoken word, the visual image.  Creating beautiful images that can inspire others as well as creating awareness about the importance of preserving these treasured locations will be paramount.

This trip will be a solo expedition into the inner passage of South East Alaska via Sea Kayak.  The planned trip will start in Seattle travelling up the famed Inside Passage to Glacier Bay.  From there, I will circumnavigate the bay, documenting the landscape and the wildlife. As the weather deteriorates, I will move south via the ferry, into the waters of the Pacific NW, the San Juan Islands. 

This blog will be dedicated to sharing my trip with all that want to participate.  I look forward to creating many new friends along the way.  One product at the end of my journey will be a limited edition, signed coffee table book containing up to 100 images that capture the beauty of this amazing place. The book will be produced using old world book making techniques by artisans that value the bound book as much as I value the final image.  Pre-Orders will be accepted starting in March of 2009, with the books being delivered in December of 2009.  As with all products that result from the trip, 5% of all profits will be donated to charity that supports the Salmon Farming industry along the Inside Passage.

In addition to the book and Fine-Art prints, I will be looking for locations to tour and do A/V shows to audiences of all ages hoping to provide them with insight and enlightenment on such a special place.  Creating awareness about the sensitivity of these and other natural wonders will be a major goal of mine.
